UTAH FEDERAL COURT


Microsoft Denied Change of Venue

Provo, UT—November 19, 1997 —Caldera Inc. today announced that its antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft will remain in Utah. In a hearing yesterday before the U.S. District Court of Utah in Salt Lake City, Magistrate Ronald Boyce heard arguments by Microsoft on a motion to transfer venue to U.S. District Court in Seattle, Washington. Judge Boyce ruled from the bench and denied the motion. "We feel that today's action by Judge Boyce will establish a more level playing field in Caldera's pursuit of this matter," said Bryan Sparks, President and CEO of Caldera Inc.
